Pete used to help coach our soccer team when I was in 7th grade, and I must say I don’t think anyone missed a practice that season...he was three years older than us and so darling! I kept playing, and got in the habit of wearing a “lucky” ribbon in my ponytail during games. Years later, I spent my summers coaching soccer camps with Pete in Kingwood. The summer before I went to college, our team was heading to nationals, and Pete gave me a good luck card with a new lucky ribbon in it. I wore it for another four years of games in college, and still have it in a box. It always made me smile to picture him in the fabric store picking out a half a yard of red ribbon! To this day, it’s one of the most thoughtful gifts anyone has ever given me. Pete had such an impact on so many...kids came back summer after summer to play with Coach Pete. My thoughts and prayers are with all who knew him.
